Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah (r.a.)

A Muslim commander and companion of the Prophet (583 to 639), known as one of the ten to whom Paradise was promised.[1] He commanded a large section of the Rashidun army under the caliph Umar, who placed him on the list of his appointed successors, and he died in the Plague of Amwas in 639.[1]
