Saint George

An early Christian martyr who died in 303 and is venerated as a saint.[1] By tradition a soldier of Cappadocian Greek origin, he became a member of the Praetorian Guard under Diocletian and was sentenced to death during the Diocletianic Persecution for refusing to recant his faith.[1]
