André Bessette (1845 to 1937), a lay brother of the Congregation of Holy Cross, canonised as Saint André of Montreal.[1] A significant figure of the Catholic Church among French Canadians, he is credited with thousands of reported healings associated with his devotion to Saint Joseph.[1]
